The First Edition of SWT Patent Award Ceremony Successfully Held in Nanjing

The first edition of SWT Patent Award Ceremony was successfully held in the manufacturing site located in Lishui, Nanjing, on May 13^th, 2011. Mr. Paul Jones, Chairman and CEO of A.O. Smith Corporation, Mr. Ajita Rajendra, President of A.O. Smith Water Products Co. and Mr. Wilfried Brouwer, President of A.O. Smith (China) Investment Co. and A.O. Smith (Shanghai) Water Treatment Products Co., Ltd. visited our new manufacturing site and attended the patent award ceremony.

First of all, David Zhu, General Manager of SWT announced the inauguration of the patent award ceremony. Mr. Paul Jones and Ajita Rajendra then delivered speeches at the event. They all mentioned the importance of technical innovation during the development of AOS Corporation, which is also an indispensable component of the AOS corporation values. The R&D team of SWT was recognized and praised for their unremitting efforts, hard work and their contributions to the technical innovations at the event.

Nine members from the R&D team had won and were granted 43 patent awards at the ceremony, eight among which were key patents, namely, a type of reverse osmosis purifier, the pressure adjustment device of diaphragm pump, a type of pumpless big flow water purifier, a central tube connector of RO membrane element, a type of spiral-rolled membrane element, a type of membrane housing, a type of RO water purifier with auto checkup function on working status, a filter housing (Model A) and a filter housing which can automatically cut off the inlet water.

This session of patent award ceremony is the first one since the establishment of SWT, and there’ll be more to come in the coming years, so as to encourage and praise technical innovations by our employees. Through abiding by one of A.O. Smith values of “Emphasize innovation”, the company will develop and produce more new technologies and products to meet the market demand and is dedicated to providing healthy drinking water solutions for numerous consumers both at home and abroad.
